Unlike today’s NBA players back in the 1960’s took to the practice court wearing the simplest of sports fashions. This very rare set of warm up gear was worn by Celtics legend Sam Jones during the period in which Boston dominated the NBA. The set consists of a green sweatshirt modified by cutting off the sleeves. The screen-printed graphics on the front are simple in marked contrast to today's over produced garments. A second sweatshirt has hemmed short sleeves again with simple yet classic Boston Celtics graphics screen printed on the chest. A set of matching green sweatpants are included along with a green ditty bag with screen-printed graphic identical to one of the sweatshirts. Sam Jones to whom these warm-up garments belonged has signed each piece in black marker. Each piece shows great wear from hours of profession practice. Pre-1970’s NBA practice wear is exceedingly scarce. These garments were typically worn until they wore out and then were cast into the trash. A very rare set of NBA uniform kit belonging to a Boston Celtic legend.
