Featured here is a participation medal and a team manager badge from the 1948 London Summer Olympics. The participation medal is made of bronze minted by J. Pinches (England) and designed by B. Mackennal/ J. Pinches. It measures 50 mm in diameter and 3 mm thickand weighs 62 grams. Obverse depicts city view of Londonover legend in three lines with "XIV OLYMPIAD LONDON 1948" in raisedlettering and Olympic rings below. Reverse shows quadriga with triumphantwinner dashing (same design as 1908). Presents NM.
The 1948 London Games team manager badge is made of an alloy metalmeasuring 48 mm tall and 32 mm wide with a dark blue ribbon flag thatfaintly reads 'TEAM MANAGER'. The metal badge is beautifully etched 'XIVOLYMPIAD LONDON 1948' with a intricately detailed depiction of Big Benand the Tower of London. Pin back is perfectly intact. Presents NM.
