This is an important baseball featuring signatures from the World Champion Yankees of 1932 at a time when the team was transitioning into a second leg of a dynasty that had ruled the American League for most of the previous decade. The ball is a Babe Ruth Home Run Special with red-and-blue stitching and in strong condition with a light shellacking that has dissipated in several areas and a minimal number of areas of light staining or scuffing. Babe Ruth placed a blazing autograph on the sweet spot and is accompanied by Gehrig Combs Dickey Ruffing Gomez Lazzeri Pennock Chapman Byrd Lary and Pipgras among others for a total of 22 signatures in all. Comes with a fascinating notarized Letter of Authenticity from the original owner of the ball stating that he had received it as a teenager after meeting Ruth and a number of other Yankees at a resort in the Catskills. The young man actually drove the Babe around in a boat and to show his appreciation sent him the signed baseball following the 1932 World Series.
