1924 USGA Women's Amateur Championship Silver Medallion won by future International Tennis Hall of Fame member Mary K. Browne. Browne an internationally renowned tennis player was also a very accomplished amateur golfer. Her 2nd place finish in the 1924 USGA Women's Amateur Championships came just a few years after she started playing golf. Front of medallion has the Great Seal of the United States at the center surrounded by "UNITED STATES GOLF ASSOCIATION 1924". Reverse has "WOMEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP RUNNER UP RHODE ISLAND COUNTRY CLUB SEPTEMBER 1-6 1924". Stamped into the edge is "CALDWELL SILVER". Medallion is 1 3/4" in diameter and weighs 48 grams. Impressive medal given to a true early two sports star!
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
