Awesome 16" by 20" 1931 George Pietzcker photo of The Hall of Fame golfer has signed on the lower right in 5/10 vintage black ink "My Best to the Best Walter Hagen Cam??? Open 1931". Right has FRENCH OPEN 1920 BRITISH OPEN 1922 - 24 - 28 - 29". "Pietzcker Photo" in lower right corner. George Pietzcker stamp on back. Photo itself in very nice condition with a 1" diagonal crease at lower right corner.
Photographer George Pietzcker traveled the country for almost 30 years from the early 1910's until the mid 1930's capturing the personalities places and happenings of the golf world in his beautiful photos. For almost 30 years he was a fixture at every major golf tournament played in America. Over this period it is estimated that he amassed a collection of golf photographs that by some estimates exceeded 15000 images. Original George Pietzcker photos from this time are some of the most prized by collectors of golf memorabilia.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
