In 1924 the Annual Indoor Meet of the Chicago Chapter Track and Field competition was held. This is the seven-pound 17-inch-tall trophy from the 1500-meter run. It boasts a large 12 male running figure cast in silver and mounted on a silver rock that is then mounted on a square dark brown wooden base. The silver plaque that adorns the front of the trophy is engraved with the following text: Annual Indoor Meet Chicago Chapter A.I.B. 1924 1500 Meters Run Joie Ray vs. Abel Kiviat. A small name plate of the manufacturer is screwed into the back of the trophy base that includes the companys name: Made by Dieges & Glust.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
