Nice pair of early 1900's University of Pennsylvania Track & Field Stein Mug Trophies.
Nice 8 1/4" mug given to the winner in the 220 yard dash for the 1904 Inter-Class Games features a raised images of the University of Pennsylvania Campus all around the sides. Near to top engraved "INTER-CLASS 1904 220 YDS DASH". Raised image of Benjamin Franklin on top of lid. Bottom stamped "CHARLES L. CLEGG PHILADELPHIA GES.-GESCH F & M N".
1905 Annual B.A.A. Games Relay Race Silver mug stands 11 1/4" tall made of wood and metal. Around top is metal band engraved "16TH ANNUAL B.A.A. GAMES FEB. 11 - 1905 RELAY RACE". Band at bottom engraved "HARVARD VS UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA". Inside of top reads "ST. LOUIS SILVER CO. QUADRUPLE PAT. PENDING 30".
Both have some tarnish but display nicely.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
