The T206 White Border set, produced between 1909 and 1911, is universally regarded as the pinnacle of tobacco card collecting — and among its most coveted subjects is Ty Cobb.

 

The "Bat Off Shoulder" portrait is one of four T206 Cobb variations, depicting the Georgia Peach in three-quarter view against a sunset-gradient background, bat resting on his shoulder, with "Cobb, Detroit" printed at the base. The reverse carries the Sweet Caporal Cigarettes back, Series 350-460/42OP. Encapsulated and graded PSA PR 1, this example displays the honest wear and toning one expects from a card well over a century old. The Cobb T206 in any grade represents one of the foundational acquisitions in American sports collecting, offering a genuine connection to the single most dominant hitter the Dead Ball Era produced.
