Western Union telegram sent by Babe Ruth to the Vernon Pacific Coast League baseball team regarding their invitation to come to California sent on October 1 1919 the opening day of the infamous 1919 World Series. The telegram reads: GENE DOYLE CARE VERNON BASEBALL CLUB 218 WEST WASHINGTON STREET LOS ANGELES CALIF RECD LETTER BUT AM STILL UNDECIDED REALLY WANT TO MAKE TRIP BUT HAVE SO MANY OTHER OFFERS PLANS ARE UNSETTLED WIRE ME HOTEL HARVARD BOSTON BABE RUTH." Telegram is in very nice condition for it's age.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
