The late Yogi Berra a first-ballot Hall of Fame catcher with the New York Yankees also served as manager for the New York Mets from 1972 to ’75. And in 1973 Berra guided the 82-79 Mets to the National League pennant when they defeated the 99-win Cincinnati Reds in five games. Though the Mets advanced to the World Series they lost to the Oakland A's in a hard-fought seven-game series. It marked Oakland’s second of three straight Fall Classic titles. This beautiful one- of-a-kind piece of baseball history is made of 10K gold with a large black stone upon which rests small diamonds in the shape of a baseball. The front of the pendant includes raised lettering that reads: “N.L. CHAMPIONS 1973 N.Y. METS.” The back of the pendant is engraved “1/10-10K LGB 10KMT.”
This item comes from Yogi Berra’s personal collection with a signedletter from an authorized family member of the Yogi Berra Estate.
