The man who revolutionized the modern professional game has penned a spectacular black Sharpie autograph and "Best Wishes" personalization to a handsome First Edition copy of his 1973 autobiography "Wilt." The NBA Hall of Famer is one of the most dominant figures in NBA history having once scored 100 points in a single game averaged more than 40 and then 50 points in a single season and is the only player in league history to average 30 points and 20 rebounds for an entire season. Tack on a pair of NBA titles seven scoring championships and selection to 13 All-Star Games and you would seem to have the makings of a pretty impressive autobiography and then some. "Wilt - Just Like Any Other 7-Foot Black Millionaire Who Lives Next Door" turned out to be a highly regarded autobiographical effort by Chamberlain (with David Shaw) running to 310 pages and earning well-deserved acclaim as an uncommonly frank and compelling memoir of his bigger-than-life life. It even includes a wonderful 24-page black-and-white photo insert with amazing photos dating to his teenage years and even a stretch as a bellhop at a hotel in the Catskills all with clever cutlines delivered by Wilt himself as he's photographed with everybody from Abe Saperstein and James Baldwin to Richard Nixon and Muhammad Ali. The book is well preserved and presents in Ex-Mt fashion jostled only by cracking near the spine of the front cover. The dust jacket is in similarly fine shape save only for some barely visible light scratching. It's a great artifact from one of the literal and figurative giants of modern sport. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Peter Vecsey Collection.
