The late great Willie Stargell stood 6’ 2” tall and 200+ lbs. with plenty of style and pizzazz during his heyday in the Steel City. Possessing a booming bat throughout his Hall of Fame career Stargell launched 475 round-trippers before calling it a career following the 1982 season. This lot features Stargell’s personally-owned and well-worn 18-karat gold Rolex GMT-Master watch. Sporting a beautifully crafted 18K gold wrist band the Rolex watch features a black dial and black bezel with an actual piece of magnifying glass positioned over the date portion making it much easier to read. Both the watch and band are engraved "18K". According to his family Stargell wore this watch during the latter stages of his life and all the way up until his death in 2001. Simply a spectacular piece of jewelry from the legendary ballplayer known so graciously as "Pops."
