This lot features the late Willie Stargell’s NationalBaseball Hall of Fame and Major League Baseball Lifetime Passes a pair of significant honors fit for the Hall of Famer. The measurement for both bronze passes is 3.5" wide by 2.25" high and they both come inside a perfectly sized black leather wallet-style case that has “WILLIE STARGELL” stamped in gold on the front. The Hall of Fame pass has the following text engraved across the frontjust below a perfectly placed front rendering of Cooperstown: "NATIONAL BASEBALL HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM COOPERSTOWN N.Y. Presents This LIFETIME PASS TO WILLIESTARGELL MEMBER OF THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME." It includes the engraved signature of then-HOF President Edward W. Stock.
The Major League Baseball Lifetime pass which sports “AMERICAN” and “NATIONAL” league banners across the top flanking a pair of crisscrossed baseball bats and a baseball includes thefollowing engraved text: “MAJOR LEAGUES OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PRESENT THE LIFETIME PASS TO WILVER ‘WILLIE’ STARGELL IN APPRECIATION OF LONG AND MERITORIOUS SERVICE.” At the bottom are the two engraved signatures of the league presidents at that time: Robert W. Brown (American) and Charles S. Feeney (National). These two passes represent Stargell’s lifetime commitment to baseball and his glorious accomplishments along the way.
