Dodgers All-Star catcher Will Smith had himself a heck of a 2025 World Series, coming up with two clutch home runs and key defensive plays throughout the thrilling seven-game Fall Classic. His game-winning bomb in the 11th inning of Game 7 will go down in history as one of the greatest moments in the storied history of the Dodgers franchise.

 

One of the only homegrown players drafted and developed by the Dodgers, Smith has been a fan favorite ever since his call-up in 2019. If not for Yoshi Yamamoto's pitching heroics, it would have been Will hoisting the 2025 World Series MVP trophy having caught all 74 innings (most in history) including the 18-inning marathon in Game 3.

 

Featured here is the Will Smith go-ahead home run ball from the top of the seventh inning in Game 2 of the World Series in Toronto. The solo blast off Kevin Gausman into the second deck down the left-field line broke a 1-1 tie and rattled the Blue Jays starter, who then gave up another long ball to Max Muncy later in the inning. The Dodgers went on to win by a score of 5-1, but it was Smith's homer that served as the game-winner.

 

Smith's home run ball was caught by a Blue Jays fan in Section 240 (Row 4, Seat 4) of the Rogers Centre. The baseball deflected off his friend’s fingers, then ricocheted into the right palm of another spectator seated behind them (Row 5, Seat 5), before ultimately landing into the hands of our consignor, who secured it against his chest.

 

“It was a surreal and memorable moment — the crowd’s energy, the excitement of catching a World Series home run ball, and the calls from nearby fans encouraging me to 'throw it back'," our consignor recalls. "Naturally, I chose to safely retain the baseball as a keepsake of that incredible experience."

 

The Official 2025 World Series (Rob Manfred Jr.) baseball shows obvious game use with a clear contact point from Smith's bat on the side panel. Accompanied by a letter of provenance signed by the recipient of the baseball along with his friend who attended the game with him on October 25th in Toronto.
