From 1979 to 1999 one hockey player ruled the NHL: Wayne Gretzky. The leagues all-time leading scorer still holds dozens of all-time scoring records and was immediately inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame following his retirement announcement in 1999. This lot includes a pair of autographed items from the man commonly referred to as The Great One. This first piece is an aluminum Easton model hockey stick that is brandished with Gretzkys uniform number 99 and his record 802 goal number on the sticks shaft. Gretzky has signed the sticks blade in black Sharpie and added his jersey number 99 after his autograph. The second item is an official Los Angeles Kings NHL (Gary Bettman) puck that Gretzky has signed on the top in silver marker along with his uniform number 99 and has added the inscription 802 to commemorate breaking Gordie Howes longstanding NHL record for career goals scored. Gretzkys broke Howes mark on March 23 1994. He broke a total of 61 offensive records during his NHL tenure including many previously held by "Mr. Hockey" Gordie Howe.

From 1986-2002 Dave Rahn served an integral role within the San Francisco 49ers organization. Starting as a public relations and media coordinator he soon took over as director of travel and team services where he was responsible for all football operations including travel and accommodations practice schedules lodging and meal planning. He later managed the concert tours for Fleetwood Mac Sheryl Crow and Lionel Richie. In 2014 Dave Rahn passed away after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. "He was like a wheel and all these spokes from those years came from him" said his close friend former linebacker Gary Plummer. "He kept the 49ers family from those times together." His collection includes dozens of 49ers game-worn and autographed items gifted by the many players and staff members who were loyal friends to Dave and will forever remain close to his loving family.
