This historic baseball is yet another piece that might more typically be found in a museum-type setting perhaps in a quaint Central New York village in the Mohawk Valley. By all accounts the great Warren Spahn tossed this baseball for the final out of his no-hitter on April 28 1961 - the second of his career and an absolute masterpiece from the lefthander who would ultimately win 363 games and find himself with a handsome plaque in the aforementioned National Baseball Hall of Fame. The Official National League Baseball (Giles) has all the earmarks of substantial game use including some staining dirt scuffing and bat marks plus the added attraction of a carefully hand printed notation in ballpoint in all caps on one panel that reads: Friday April 28-61 at Milwaukee San Francisco 0 Milwaukee 1 No Hitter. Difficult to overstate the significance of what is believed to be the final out baseball from one of game's legendary figures of the postwar era.

Includes Letter of Provenance from Warren Spahn's son (c/o Hunt Auctions).
