Trophy issue to Los Angeles Dodger manager Walter Alston for his participation in the epic May 7th 1959 Roy Campanella Benefit Game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the new York Yankees from the personal collection of the Hall of Fame manager. 93103 people jammed the historic Los Angeles Coliseum to pay tribute to the former Brooklyn Dodger Hall of Fame catcher. Award reads: "Los Angeles Examiner Award Presented to WALTER ALSTON With Sincere Appreciation For Participating In The Yankee Dodger Game". Award consists of wood base metal plaque metal baseball on base and tarnished silver plated bowl. Award in need of repair as both ball and bowl are loose but once fixed and cleaned up it will make a very nice display piece.
