Late 1930's Spalding Professional Hand Turned Model bat used by future Hall of Fame Manager Walt Alston during his minor league playing days. Barrel of bat has been stamped "SMOKEY ALSTON". Bat has not been cracked but does display a heavy amount of use. A 10 1/2" by 1 1/2" piece of wood has chipped off the barrel. The wood loss is on the barrel side opposite the Alston stamping so it can display very well with no indication that there is a problem. Bat is not quite 35 inches long and weighs 36.3 ounces.
