The notion of "museum worthy" gets tossed around a quite a bit but it's hard to imagine anybody quibbling with its use in connection with this remarkable piece: the full uniform from legendary Hall of Fame skipper Walt Alston from his final major league campaign in 1976. Offered here is a stunning game-worn road jersey and pants from 1976 from the Alston's personal collection. The jersey is outstanding with the famed "Dodgers" scripted across the front in blue tackle twill above Alston's No. 24 in red; Alston's No. 24 is also on the back in blue tackle twill directly below his last name in the same fashion affixed directly to the shirt. The shirt has the appropriate W.A. Goodman & Sons Size 46 tagging at the back of the collar. The National League Centennial embroidered patch appears on the left sleeve; the shirt is in superb condition showing considerable game use with light fraying of the delicate red and blue stitching front and back some light buckling of the tackle twill pieces and the Centennial patch but still essentially as-issued and problem free. The accompanying pants are a perfect complement and in the same outstanding overall condition with the appropriate W.A. Goodman & Sons tagging on the front left of the waist and an elaborate grey team tag at the back of the waist with blue embroidered "Alston - 38/23 Set 1 '76."
