This is an impressive team-signed Los Angeles Dodgers baseball from their fifth season in LA and their first at their new stadium at Chavez Ravine after four chaotic seasons playing baseball at the decidedly baseball-unfriendly Coliseum. In a record-setting season when the team won 102 games and yet saw the pennant slip away in a playoff with the hated Giants the Dodgers showed many glimpses of what was to come with 25 wins from ace Don Drysdale 102 stolen bases from Maury Wills and the first look at the NL-dominating Sandy Koufax who went down with an injury in mid-July and probably took the club's pennant hopes with him. This attractive team-signed Dodgers baseball comes from the collection of the team's legendary manager Walt Alston and claims 26 autographs an Official National League Giles ball with signatures that have been applied in a uniform blue ballpoint and only a whisper of smudging of the autographs. The roster of signers includes: Alston and fellow Hall of Famer Leo Durocher on the sweet spot Snider Drysdale Wills Howard Fairly Tommy Davis Willie Davis Williams Larry Sherry Moon Perranoski Richert Roebuck Norm Sherry Moeller Burright Reiser Carey Becker and Camilli. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Walter Alston Collection.
