In all of sports history there has rarely been a bond like the one that linked the Brooklyn Dodgers with their fans. True believers to the core Brooklynites cheered their team through all seasons but never more passionately than the summer of 1955. And for a brief and shining moment on the sunny afternoon of October 4 1955 Brooklyn stood still. Finally the beloved Bums guided by manager Walter Alston laid to rest a hard century of World Series futility and brought to Flatbush what Brooklynites never had before and would never have again: a championship. Bums No More! The victory was made all the more sweet in that it came at the expense of their rival Yankees who had vanquished Brooklyn in four previous World Series match-ups.

This 1955 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series championship ring was awarded to Manager Alston. The 14K white gold ring includes a round brilliant-cut diamond (.85 carat) that commands the face which is set in a beautiful blue stone and ringed by the words "Brooklyn World Champions." The left shank features ball and bats imagery with his name ("Walt Alston") engraved across the sweet spot. The right shank celebrates the victory with the Dodgers' logo the word "FIRST" and the year "1955." The white gold beauty is stamped "Dieges & Clust 14K" on the interior band which measures to size 11. The ring remains in near perfect undamaged condition and comes inside its original blue Dieges & Clust presentation box which is marked in gold lettering that reads: "Brooklyn Dodgers World Champions 1955." A cherished sports heirloom that ranks among the finest Brooklyn Dodgers artifacts ever offered publicly.

Includes LOA from the Alston Family.
