Two of the most important links that extended the chain of the Yankees dynasty over two generation are featured in this fabulous 7” by 9” photograph. Dated to March of 1937 the playful image shows Lou Gehrig defying gravity and leaping gracefully over his young teammates Joe DiMaggio’s bat. Gehrig has signed it in that most magnificent bold black ink “To Harry - With Kindest Personal Regards Lou Gehrig.” DiMaggio has signed it across his shoulder “Sincerely Joe DiMaggio” in the same bold black ink. In between is the signature of Paul Krischell a key scout for the New York Yankees during their rise to baseball prominence beginning in the early 1920s. Krichell is credited with signing such standouts as Lou Gehrig Johnny Allen Bill Dickey and Phil Rizzuto. The black and white original wire photo with magnificent contrast and clarity shows the two Yankee legends in a playful action shot. A 1930's Associated Press stamp appears on the verso. Photo itself is EX signatures are MINT. Because of the short time they played together a dual-signed photo of Gehrig and DiMaggio is quite rare much more so than the combo of Ruth and Gehrig. Matted and framed to overall dimensions of 12.5" by 15".
