Presented here is a radiant 1984 Chicago Sun Times Type I photo of Michael Jordan in his early moments as a Chicago Bull, greeting the media with a charming and innocent smile, the famed Bulls logo looming over his shoulder.
No one, likely not even "Air Jordan" himself, could imagine the level of greatness that was ahead. This bank of microphones, this "swarm" of media, was quite pedestrian compared to the eventual demands on the basketball and cultural superstar!
This original photo, which measures 8" X 10", includes the stamps, markings and notes that make these Type I photos so special, with forensics and clues to the photographer, history and use of the photo.
We see our fair share of Michael Jordan memorabilia, but this piece definitely stands out. Wow!
