Presented is a Type 1 photo by Stephen Green of the legendary Michael Jordan with his signature tongue out as he drives to the hoop. In an appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show in 1990, Jordan explained why his tongue was often hanging out as he concentrated on something important in a game. Jordan told Hall: “Well, it’s an unconscious habit that I picked up from my father. Being a little kid and you’re watching your father work, he used to stick his tongue out, and I took it up and made it a habit. And now I can’t stop, I tried to stop, I tried playing with a mouthpiece in my mouth — just didn’t work, it didn’t feel natural.” Clearly Jordan's tongue trick worked out well for him throughout the course of his career. When this 8" x 10" photo was taken in 1992, His Airness was en route to his second-consecutive NBA Finals victory with the Bulls. In this classic image, Jordan appears ready to throw down one of his famous one-handed jams.
