A stunning 1934 Babe Ruth signed original photograph by George Burke, inscribed directly to his Yankees teammate, Hall of Fame pitcher Vernon "Lefty" Gomez, and originating from the Gomez family collection. This is a piece of extraordinary personal significance, exchanged between two Yankees stars during Ruth's final season in pinstripes and the year Gomez captured the American League pitching Triple Crown.

Burke's portrait is one of the most recognized images of Ruth in his later Yankees years, showing the Bambino in his road grays and "NY" cap, arms folded across his knee, gazing thoughtfully upward against a dark studio backdrop. The tonality and clarity are excellent throughout. Ruth has boldly inscribed the image to "Lefty" Gomez, followed by "Sincerely, Babe Ruth" and the date "1934," with the inscription and signature presenting in rich, dark ink with outstanding legibility.

The reverse bears George Burke's stamp, "Duplicates of this photo may be had at any time. Geo. Burke, 847 Belmont Ave., Chicago," with the N.R.A. code marking characteristic of his mid-1930s prints. Light toning and edge residue are present on verso.

PSA/DNA has certified the photograph as a Type 1 original and authenticated the signature, and the piece is further accompanied by a full JSA letter of authenticity. Ruth items inscribed to fellow Yankees are exceedingly rare, and the direct provenance from the Gomez collection makes this an elite, museum-quality offering.
