It was a sad and historic day when the Brooklyn Dodgers played their final game at Ebbets Field on September 24 1957. The Dodgers had made Ebbets Field their home since 1913. Just 6702 patrons attended the ballgame a 2-0 Dodgers win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. With the upcoming relocation of the franchise to Los Angeles and the late season date despite the Dodgers winning season (84-70) attendance was light.
Presented here is the classic game program from the final Dodgers performance in the legenday ballpark a bittersweet baseball treasure that marks the end of an era. Notable players that took the field in the game included Gil Hodges Pee Wee Reese and Roy Campanella for Brooklyn and for the Bucs Roberto Clemente Dick Groat and Bill Mazeroski. Some loyal fan scored the game which is artfully noted in baseball hieroglyphics.
