This game-used ASICS Gold Stage maple bat was wielded by Shohei Ohtani during his record-breaking 2019 rookie campaign, specifically used to launch his 40th career home run on September 11, 2019. The black-finished bat displays Ohtani's name rendered in Japanese characters along the barrel beneath the ASICS Gold Stage branding, with "Hard Maple" lettering identifying the bat's wood composition. Extensive ball marks and pine tar residue are visible across the barrel, while the handle shows worn, taped grip consistent with extended game use, and the knob bears the bat's model and production stampings. PSA/DNA has graded the bat GU 9.5, an exceptional grade reflecting outstanding use characteristics and clear photo-match potential, with Fanatics and MLB Authentication holograms further verifying its provenance directly to this milestone home run.
