Shohei Ohtani doesn't chase records so much as retire them. A year after becoming the first player in Major League history to reach 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season, Ohtani opened 2025 by rewriting the Dodgers' record book yet again by reaching 30 home runs in just 84 games – the fastest pace in franchise history, surpassing Duke Snider (1955) and Cody Bellinger (2019), who each reached the mark in 85 games.
That 84th game came on July 1st at Dodger Stadium, a 6-1 win over the visiting Chicago White Sox. Facing Sane Smith with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning and the count full, Ohtani launched a solo home run that stayed in the air for nearly seven seconds and traveled roughly 408 feet into the right field pavilion. Struck at over 116 mph with a 42-degree launch angle, it stands as the hardest-hit home run with a launch angle above 36 degrees ever recorded in the Statcast era. The insurance run backed a stellar start and another win for fellow countryman Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the eventual 2025 World Series MVP.
Presented here is the Dodgers classic home white jersey that Ohtani wore that game, authenticarted with MLB's sealproof hologram affixed rto the shirttail backed by conclusive photomatch documentation from Sports Investors Authentication. The white Nike button-up shirt carries the traditional blue "Dodgers" script and red "17" on the chest, with a gold MVP-recognition MLB logo above "OHTANI" and "17" in blue tackle twill on the back. The coveted Fernando Valenzuela #34 memorial patch is sewn on the left sleeve, and the Guggenheim sponsorship patch appears on the right sleeve. Proper Nike Authentic Collection tagging ont the left front tail displays "#17 Ohtani 2025" and "48TC -2S" (size 48) printed in black next to an unique manufacturing QR code. A Dodgers logo-branded "17.85" label underneath the shirttail of each 2025 L.A. Dodgers game jersey is an internal team inventory and authentication code used by the club and MLB to track specific uniform items. The jersey exhibits visible game wear with light pilling and stretching along with a mild soil stains on both shoulders.
MLB Authentication PX046116 (sec. code HKL). Full SIA paperwork included with three photo-matched areas of the shirt documented.
