On Sept. 14 1997 San Francisco 49ers cornerback Rod Woodson played a game to remember. In just his third regular-season game as a Niner and in his only season playing in San Francisco Woodson wreaked havoc on opposing Saints signal-callers Danny Wuerffel and Heath Shuler. By the end of the game which the 49ers won easily 33-7 Woodson had recorded three interceptions for a combined 81 yards and recovered one fumble. This lot includes the painted game ball that Woodson was awarded following the decisive victory. The lone painted panel show both the Niners and Saints helmets flanking a center are that reads: GAME BALL PRESENTED TO Rod Woodson 3 INTERCEPTIONS 1 FUMBLE RECOVERY 49ers - 33 Saints - 7 Sunday Sept. 14 1997 3COM Park. This single game represented Woodsons total number of interceptions for the entire season.
