From the great Robin Yount comes this intriguing original brick from the Hall of Fame an honor bestowed on HOFers by the museum following the facility’s renovation in 2002-05. Yount’s illustrious 20-year career in Milwaukee featured two American League MVP nods 3142 hits and that plaque in Cooperstown to say nothing of the rabid affection of generations of Midwesterners who appreciated his hustling style and impeccable baseball instincts. This artifact from Yount’s personal collection is designed in the shape of home plate with the brick resting in a polished wood showcase with lock-and-key opening wood-framed glass cover and an elegant engraved dedication also in the shape of home plate. It reads: “National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum dedicated on June 12 1939 Cooperstown N.Y. presented to Robin Yount whose HOF plaque symbolizes his greatness as a player was dedicated in 1999. This brick is from the original building and was preserved during the Hall of Fame 2002-05 renovation”; directly below is an attractively engraved graphic of the famed Hall of Fame logo. All elements of the artifact and presentation showcase seem to be in largely as-issued and problem-free condition with the key present.
