Rick Dempsey's Worth Hand Crafted bat used to hit a home run in the deciding Game 5 of the 1983 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles. Dempsey poled a solo home run leading off the 3rd inning for the Orioles who were ahead just 1-0 at the time. He would later hit a double in the 5th. Dempsey was named Most Valuable Player for the 1983 World Series Batting .385 with 4 Doubles 1 Home Run 3 Runs Scored and 2 Runs Bated in for the 5 game contest. He has signed the bat on the barrel in beautiful 9/10 silver felt tip pen "Rick Dempsey 1983 World Series Home run game used bat". Bat is 35" long and weighs 33 oz. "RD 5 W0141" stamped into the knob. "14" in black marker written on the knob. Pine tar residue around the handle with an area of dead wood from repeated ball contact on the barrel. Great piece of Baltimore Orioles Post Season History from the Most Valuable Player of the World Series.
