Known for his trademark underhand free throws, Rick Barry was one of the ABA and NBA’s most prolific scoring machines. The 1966 ABA Rookie of the Year was an eight-time All-Star, won the 1975 Finals MVP Award and led the NBA in free-throw percentage six times. Barry’s most unique accomplishments is his being sole player to lead the NCAA, ABA, and NBA in points per game in a season. For all of his incredible accolades as a player, Barry was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987.
Offered is the ring that Barry was given as part of his induction into the Hall. The 10-karat gold Balfour ring boasts a faux diamond at the center atop a small gold wreath and red stone backdrop, encircled by the words "Basketball Hall of Fame." On one side is "1987" atop a figural relief of two players contesting for the ball. On the other shank is "RICK BARRY" above a Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame shield logo. The inside of the band is stamped "LGB 10K.” The size 12 ring weighs 29.24 grams.
