Everlast boxing glove used by future World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Primo Carnera in his June 15 1931 fight with Pat Redmond at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn New York. Carnera knocked out Redmond at the 2:24 mark of the 1st round. On June 29 1933 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl on Long Island Carnera became World Heavyweight Boxing Champion by knocking out title holder Jack Sharkey in round six. The fight was surrounded by controversy as both fans and sportswriters at the event thought the uppercut that knocked out Sharkey looked not to have landed. Rumblings of a mob fix were heard causing some to maintain that Sharkey threw the fight. Carnera retained the crown with 2 title defenses but on June 14 1934 at the same Madison Square Garden Bowl on Long Island against Max Baer Carnera was knocked down 11 times by the challenger and lost by TKO in 11 rounds. Carnera was considered a giant at the time he fought an inch shorter than Jess Willard the tallest boxer up to that time but 40 pounds heavier than the former champion. His career record was 89 wins and 14 losses. Huge right hand glove display excellent use and still have the original laces. "CARNERA" printed in vintage blue ink on the inside.
