A pair of team-signed footballs from the then-Los Angeles Rams is a great gift for any gridiron fan. But a pair of team-signed footballs commemorating special winning seasons are even better. This lot includes two such footballs one covered with player signatures from the Rams 1974 season in which they posted a 10-4 regular-season record and were crowned NFC Western Division Champs while the other is from the teams 1979-80 season in which they were NFC Champions before bowing to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XIV 31-19. The first football is a single white-panel ball that includes 47 autographs all signed in black pen and rate 6-7/10 some faded over time but all still legible from top players such as Merlin Olsen Jack Youngblood James Harris Jim Youngblood Ron Jaworski Lawrence McCutcheon Mike Burke Bill Simpson and Harold Jackson. The second ball which is actually personalized To Johnny Newport Sports Museum Founder John Hamilton is a tri-panel white football that was signed by no less than 48 players. The signatures which are solid clearly legible and rate 7-8/10 include such names as Pat Haden Wendell Tyler Cullen Bryant Jack Youngblood Jim Youngblood and Fred Dryer.
Includes a letter of provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
