Presented here is striking pair of warm-up suit sets worn by members of the San Francisco Warriors during the late 1960’s. Vintage Warriors apparel is among the most eye-appealing and highly-coveted for basketball collectors (see 2004 GQ magazine). The first set appears to have been worn by point guard Jimmy King who wore number “21” during the 1966-69 seasons in San Fran. The front left chest has “Warriors” in blue script above a blue and gold embroidered Indian head dress. The jacket has a blue white and gold ribbed collar and a Size 46 Wilson label is sewn inside. The left sleeve has King’s number “21” in blue tackle twill and each sleeve opening is trimmed with gold and blue piping. The front has seven gold snap button all of which are intact. The back sports a 9” x 12” blue and white cable car patch.

The second jacket does not have a layer number. The front left chest has “Warriors” in blue script above a blue and gold embroidered Indian head dress. The jacket has a blue white and gold ribbed collar and a Size 44 Wilson label is sewn inside. Each sleeve opening is trimmed with gold and blue piping. The front has seven gold snap button all of which are intact. The back sports a 9” x 12” blue and white cable car patch. Both jackets show medium use most visible on the front buttons which have paint loss on their surfaces.

The jackets comes with their matching gold pants one of which has a Size 36 Wilson label with a strip tag with 36” I.S.” sewn inside the waistband and number “14” in blue tackle twill. Forward Tom Meschery wore No. 14 from 1962-67 so these may have belonged to him. The second set has size “34” Wilson label with a strip tag with 31 1/2” I.S.” sewn inside the waistband and no number. Gold and blue ribbing runs down each leg which is closed with workable zippers. Two classic sets of warm-up suits from the Warriors' first decade in the Bay Area both of which were procured by a long-time box office employee.
