Beautiful 34" by 11" by 9" Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Silver Slugger Award trophy given to Ozzie Smith as a member of the 1987 Sporting News National League Offensive Team. Plaque honors Ozzie as well as the other 8 position players selected. 1987 was the finest offensive year of Ozzie's career as he batted .303 with 75 RBI an OPS of .775 and scored 104 runs. He also stole 43 bases. Many feel that his second place finish in MVP voting that year was a snub especially considering his defensive contribution as well. This significant trophy appears in great shape with minimal handling wear on the wooden base.
