Striking original Olympic Torch from the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta measures 31 1/2" in length making it the tallest torch Summer Olympic Games history. The Centennial torch consists of 22 reeds - one of each of the Olympic Games with a center "handle" of Georgia hardwood. The names of each host city are etched in a gold band near the torch base; another band above the wood shows the Atlanta Games logo and Quilt of Leaves. Its diameter varies from 2 1/4 inches at the bottom to 3 1/2 inches at the top. The reeds are aluminum; the hardwood is either pecan or hickory with two gold-plated brass bands. Beautiful perfect looking condition!
