Directly from the family estate collection of Barney Stein comes this 7" by 9" original photograph of Johnny Podres and the Brooklyn Dodgers celebrating on the field at Yankee Stadium after the final out of the 1955 World Series. Podres needed just two runs in a masterful complete-game shutout in Game 7 as 'Dem Bums finally got sweet revenge over their cross-town A.L. rivals. Fans stormed the field and mobbed Podres (mouth agape on the left) as Russ Meyer (#34) tried to make his way through the crowd to embrace the star pitcher. A swarm of photographers and journalists are seen trying to capture this crazy moment, the franchise's only World Series won in Brooklyn.

Barney Stein titled this epic shot, "The Ecstasy", and there is a paper caption taped on the back of the frame describing the scene. This crystal-clear black and white original photo was printed off its original negative from the famous Dodgers photographer's camera many years later. The fiber-based gelatin silver print has been professionally matted and framed. This exact framed photo was on display as part of the Barney Stein Photo Collection in 2001 at the Frick Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. (See uploaded picture of Barney's daughter alongside it.)
