Heavyweight boxing champions Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton competed against one another in three epic bouts during the course of their professional careers. This lot represents two of their three battles. Included here is an actual fight ticket to their very first bout which was held on March 31 1973 at the San Diego Sports Arena. In that initial meeting Norton outlasted Ali in a great 12-round slugfest in which he not only scored a split decision over the reigning champ but broke Alis jaw in the process. Included with the ticket in the framed and matted presentation is an 8 by 10 color photograph showing the two boxers in their third and final meeting at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 28 1976 in which Ali scored a controversial 15-round unanimous decision over Norton. Finally the 22" high by 15" wide framed piece includes a period dollar bill (minted in 1969) that sports the signatures of both boxers along with that of Archie Moore a previous Light Heavyweight Champion. All three boxers have signed the dollar bill in black ink. Moore even added 1973 beneath his scrawl.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
