Here is perhaps the most desirable example of a celebrity credit card ever seen in the sports collector's marketplace: Mickey Mantles personal American Express Platinum card. Mantle used this particular card which features his name printed on the front from 09/85 through 11/87. Also noted on the card is the fact that The Mick has been an American Express Card member since 1969. Mantle has signed the card in blue ink (grading 8) along the designated strip on the reverse. Included with the American Express card is Mantles American Airlines Admirals Club card. The card bears the expiration date 06 88 on the front and makes note that Mantle has been a member since 59. The signature strip on the reverse has not been signed but Mantle has signed the front of the card in blue Sharpie (10). Both of these cards (each measuring approximately 3.25 x 2.25 inches) originate directly from the Mantle family.
They were purchased together at the historic 2003 Mickey Mantle Estate sale held at Madison Square Garden and are accompanied by a single COA signed by Mantles widow and his two sons. Each card is in excellent condition.
Comes with LOA from PSA/DNA as well.
