Michael Vick looked well on his way to having a Hall of Fame career after three Pro Bowl selections in his first six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. In 2006 he became the only quarterback in history to ever rush for over 1000 yards in a season. Then came his 2007 conviction for animal cruelty that landed him in a Federal pen for almost two years. Just as it looked like a once-promising career had ended in shreds Michael Vick was given a second chance courtesy of the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent 2009 as a backup to Donovan McNabb then emerged in 2010 as the team’s starting QB. His performance throughout the season (3018 passing yards 676 rushing yards 30 total TD’s and just 6 INT’s) earned him another Pro Bowl selection and got the Eagles a spot in the playoffs. Vick’s turnaround season also earned him the Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year Award presented here.
The robust eye-catching trophy features a golden football mounted on a hollow pedestal with the AP logo in gold on crystal. A golden band around the base is etched with “Michael Vick Philadelphia Eagles The Associated Press NFL Comeback Player of the Year 2010.” The award shows light wear from display. It stands 28" tall measures 14" in diameter (bottom base) and weighs a whopping 30 pounds. Its message carries with it a dual-meaning. Mike has shown in recent years that he has been rehabilitated and has learned from his mistakes. He is happily married with three kids and has been actively involved with coaching at various levels. He is currently the offensive coordinator for Atlanta’s team in the newly formed Alliance of American Football.
Research shows that this is the first time any example of this coveted NFL award has been offered publicly making it a tremendous 1 of 1 opportunity for trophy collectors.
Includes LOA from Michael Vick.
