Michael Vick looked well on his way to having a Hall of Fame careerafter three Pro Bowl selections in his first six seasons with theAtlanta Falcons. In 2006 he became the only quarterback in history toever rush for over 1000 yards in a season. Then came his 2007conviction for animal cruelty that landed him in a Federal pen foralmost two years. Just as it looked like a once-promising career hadended in shreds Vick was given a second chance courtesy of thePhiladelphia Eagles. He spent 2009 as the backup beforeemerging in 2010 as the starter. The electric dual-threat QB put together a fantastic season (3018 passing yards 676 rushing yards 30 total TD’s andjust 6 INT’s) to earn another Pro Bowl nod and lead the Eagles to the playoffs.
By 2012 injuries began to catch up to the then 32-year-old but he did have a few stellar games that year including a Sept. 30 Sunday Night showdown vs. the rival New York Giants. Vick was 21-for-30 passing for 241 yards and threw a 19-yard TD strike to DeSean Jackson in the first quarter. He added 49 rushing yards and eventually led the Eagles down the field for the game-winning field goal in a 19-17 victory. For his efforts Vick received this "Sunday Night Football Player of the Game" ball that he has autographed in 8/10 black marker with his No. "7" inscribed. The official NFL (Goodall) Wilson 'The Duke' leather football is neatly decorated with the NBC Sunday Night Football logo logos of the two teams that played that evening and the site and date of the game. The ball does leak a little air but stays mostly inflated.
