During his 16-year major league career Mark McGwire was a home run hitting machine while playing for both the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals. In all Big Mac launched 583 home runs with his first 220 launching while he was a member of the As. His two best seasons in Oakland were in 1987 when he was named the American Leagues Rookie of the Year after hitting 49 round-strippers and 1996 when he hit 52 dingers. This lot includes one of McGwires game-worn and autographed batting helmets while with the As. The two-tone green-and-yellow Rawlings helmet includes the As logo in the front right above McGwires signature in green marker against the yellow bill. The signature is slightly streaky and rates 6-7/10. McGwire's uniform No. 25 can be seen on the back of the helmet in white.
