The 1998 New York Yankees won more games including the postseason than any team in major league history. The Yankees finished 125-50 after an 11-2 romp through October that included a sweep of the Padres in the World Series. They won the A.L. East by 22 games and led the majors in runs and the A.L. in ERA.
From the most celebrated season of his remarkable career comes this Derek Jeter game worn New York Yankees road jersey. In 1998 Jeter helped pace the devastatingly productive Yankees offense with a .324 average 19 homers 84 RBI and 30 steals en route to his second World Series title in just his third full season in the Bronx. The iconic road gray garment features "New York" in bold block letters across the chest and Jeters number "2" on verso in navy on white tackle twill. Proper "Russell Athletic Diamond Collection [size] 48" label appears at lower left front tail above dual flap tags ("100 Polyester" and "2" Extra Length") and the requisite JETER-98" swatch tag. Moderate game use and wash wear are evident. Jeter has added a perfect autograph and 98 WS Champs notation to the front. With regard to both its physical attributes and its season of service collectors would be hard pressed to find a more ideal Jeter gamer from the era.
