1) 1982 Tim Stoddard orange alternate #49 jersey Wilson size 50 tagged '82 1' outside shirttail. Shows moderate wear with fraying inside neck and along edge of nameplate on back. Essentially as issued in appropriate game-used condition. Stoddard was a relief pitcher for the O's for six seasons (1978-1983) his best being in 1980 when he served as closer going 5-3 with a 2.51 ERA and a team-high 26 Saves. He saved 12 games in 1982 the year he wore this orange beauty. An imposing figure on the mound at 6'7" Stoddard was a starting forward for the 1974 NCAA Champion N.C. State Wolfpack. He is one of only two men to win both a World Series (1983) and NCAA Title. How's that for a fun fact.
2) 1980 Bobby Bonner orange alternate #2 jersey Wilson size 40 tagged '80 1' outside shirttail. Shows good wear with fraying on back numbers. Essentially as issued in appropriate game-used condition. Bonner played Shortstop and was called up and sent down several times from 1980 to 1983. In 1981 he played in the longest professional baseball game ever recorded a 33-inning affair between the Pawtucket Red Sox and Rochester Red Wings in which he had 12 at-bats.
3) 1981 Wayne Krenchicki orange alternate #6 jersey Wilson size 42 tagged '81 1' outside shirttail. Shows light to moderate wear with minor fraying on back. Essentially as issued in appropriate game-used condition. A utility infielder Krenchicki played mostly at third base in his three seasons with Baltimore (1979-81).
4) 1985 [No Name] white home #31 jersey Rawlings size 46 tagged 'Set 1 1985' inside shirttail. Ray Miller wore #31 as Orioles pitching coach 1978-1985 before taking over as Minnesota Twins manager in June 1985. Pitcher Brad Havens became the first Orioles player to wear #31 in September 1985. This unnamed jersey is almost certainly Ray Miller's pitching coach jersey he wore in early 1985. An integral part of the Orioles success in the late 70's and early 80's Miller coached and mentored five 20-game winners including Jim Palmer Mike Boddicker Mike Flanagan Steve Stone and Scott McGregor. He later worked as Pirates pitching coach 1987-96 under Jim Leyland during their run of three straight NL East division titles in the early 90's. The jersey shows heavy wear with yellowish pit stains and other sweat discolorations. Essentially as issued in appropriate game-used condition.
Includes Letter of Authenticity from Orioles Scouting Director Tom Giordano. After a very brief playing stint at 2nd base for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1953 Giordano moved on to a coaching managing and scouting career in baseball that is now 66 years and counting (began in 1948 in minor leagues). He was Director of Scouting and Player Development for the Baltimore Orioles from 1976-1987 before moving on to similar baseball operations positions with the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers. In 2007 Giordano was named East Coast Scout of the Year.
