Two pairs of 1980's Orioles road gray pants worn by the most durable baseball player in history "Iron Man" Cal Ripken Jr. The MacGregor Sand-Knit manufacturer's tag stamped 'Designed and Tailored Exclusively for the Baltimore Orioles' is sewn inside the orange white and black team-colored waistband of each pair. Same O's color pattern stripe runs vertically outside each leg.

The 1984 pair size 36 is tagged '84 36 27 8 RIPKEN' inside the waistband. There are a few dark spots on the back and a few sweat/dirt stains in the leg area. All buttons intact. Shows excellent wear with pilling on rear end. Comes largely as issued in appropriate game-used condition.

The 1986 pair size 38 is tagged '86-38 29 RIPKEN 8' inside the Orioles team-colored waistband with smeared red marker filling the 'RIPKEN 8' section. More prevalent dark spotting on the back left side. Button missing on right back pocket. Shows heavy wear with pilling on rear end. Comes largely as issued in appropriate game-used condition.

Both 1984 and 1986 were All-Star and Silver Slugger seasons for Ripken. No surprise there being that the Hall of Fame shortstop was named to 19 teams and won 8 Silver Slugger awards in his storied career. Rare chance to get two game-worn Orioles pieces from arguably the greatest shortstop who ever lived.

Includes a Letter of Authenticity from the Orioles Scouting Director Tom Giordano.

The pants in this lot come from the personal collection of longtime MLB executive Tom Giordano. After a very brief playing stint at 2nd base for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1953 Giordano moved on to a coaching managing and scouting career in baseball that is now 66 years and counting (began in 1948 in minor leagues). He was Director of Scouting and Player Development for the Baltimore Orioles from 1976-1987 before moving on to similar baseball operations positions with the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers. In 2007 Giordano was named East Coast Scout of the Year.
