Start the decade of right with a uniform run of the first six years of Topps baseball in the 1980s, sets as consistent and unwavering as some of the stars they depict. Sets are simply NM-MT to MINT from each year, with no discernible dropoff to major stars or keys like 1980 Henderson rookie, 1982 Ripken, 1984 Mattingly or 1983 cards if Gwynn, Sandberg and Boggs. Only a concerted examination reveals a tiny ding on the 1985 McGwire that might preclude a NM-MT designation; centering of the keys seems solid, and with the remainder of the issue would only waver to the degree you might expect from complete sets of the era. Totals break down as follows: 1980-81 are 726 cards each, and 1982-85 are 792 cards each.
