This outstanding eighteen-card run of 1926 Spalding Champions cards spans baseball, golf, boxing, tennis, horse racing, aviation, and more, illustrating just how broadly this scarce advertising premium set cast its net across period celebrity. Headliners include Hall of Famers Eddie Collins, Paul Waner, Jimmy Bottomley, Goose Goslin, and Mickey Cochrane, alongside golf legend Walter Hagen, heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey, and even Man o' War, the legendary thoroughbred.

 

Every card in the lot has been individually graded by PSA, with results ranging from Good to Near Mint and several pieces — including Putt Mossman's horseshoe-pitching card and Fred Hofmann's baseball issue — reaching the upper end of that spectrum. Each card retains its ornate "Champions" bordered design and detailed biographical reverse. A remarkably broad and well-preserved cross-section of this scarce 1920s multi-sport issue, offering exceptional value and variety for any collector pursuing early 20th-century Americana.

Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method.
