Offered is a beautifully preserved card from the twilight of Mickey Mantle's legendary career: a 1968 Topps #280 Mickey Mantle, graded NM-MT 8 (MC) by PSA. Topps' distinctive 1968 "burlap" border design makes this one of the most recognizable cards in the Mantle run. It was among the final cards issued during his playing days, released as he embarked on the last season of his career.

The obverse shows "The Commerce Comet" in classic Yankee pinstripes, posed at the plate with his bat held high against a blue sky and stadium backdrop. A red circle at lower right identifies him as "1st Base • Yankees," the position he played in his final two seasons. The reverse provides Mantle's complete major and minor league batting record through 1967, including 518 career home runs and a .302 lifetime average to that point, along with the note that "Mickey holds a World Series mark of 18 homers!"

The NM-MT 8 grade reflects bright, vibrant color, sharp focus and clean corners. The (MC) qualifier refers to the card's factory cut, while the overall presentation retains exceptional eye appeal for a high-grade example. The reverse is clean, with crisp yellow card stock.
