This stunning Size 11 Herff Jones Heisman ring was awarded to Les Horvath the winner of the Heisman Trophy in 1944 as a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of his Heisman victory. Horvath had a breakout season at Ohio State in 1944 gaining 669 rushing yards and 1200 all-purpose yards as the Buckeyes turned in a 90 record and finished second in the national polls. The highlights of Horvath's season included scoring the winning touchdown in Ohio State's annual match-up against Michigan. He was named a first-team All-American by sportswriters and the Most Valuable Player in the Big Ten and ultimately the coveted Heisman becoming the first Ohio State player to win the award. The 1994 ring is in superlative condition largely as-issued (posthumously) and problem-free with a raised 10K gold sculpture of the trophy on the face surrounded by 18 real diamonds; "Heisman" and "Memorial Trophy" encircle the face separated by four additional real diamonds two on each side. One shank has the raised words "Downtown Athletic Club of New York" above the DAC logo and "Founded 1929" while the other has Horvath's name in large raised letters and "1944 The Heisman" adjacent to a sculpture of the trophy. At the bottom of the shank is "Since 1935." Engraved on the inside of the band is "HJ - 10K." Comes in an attractive 2-inch-square black-felt jewelry box.

Heisman rings such as this are far more rare than any Super Bowl ring as only one is issued per annum. The rarity of these rings is equal to that of the Heisman trophy itself.
